A very happy Pink Saturday to you all. This week I am featuring a very special 'guest' ... sweet Khloe! Khloe is the precious little girl I sponsor at the New Day Foster Home in China.
Last week, I received and update on Khloe and a few photos of Khloe opening her package from me ... and dressed in her new pink tutu! So cute.
Tanya, Khloe's mama posted this photo on her blog and created the cute pink frame. She also included a picture of her older daughter when she was younger in her tutu - so cute!
I also wanted to mention that I received an email yesterday from a blog reader, Lauren who was lead to the New Day Foster Home through my blog and is now sponsoring a little boy named Jamison (what a cutie - so precious). How great is that -Amazing how God works!

Another Pink Saturdayand this week I am 'sort of' sharing something pink. I am the lucky owner of a new car and while the car is not pink, I am wearing a pink (and orange) Lilly dress. My husband took these pictures with my iphone (thus the bad quality photos) in the showroom when I was having a 'lesson' on all it's features, which took over an hour. Lots to learn. This my first 'non-mom' car in 22 years. With just one child (who will be driving himself in just 3 years!) at home now, I was ready to down size. I've gone through a Volvo wagon, two different Suburbans and 2 different smaller SUVs ... and although I have only had it for a day, I love this car!

Happy Pink Saturday ... and 4th of July!
Yesterday, I was at the salon for color, treatments, cut and style. My stylist asked to take a few photos of my hair. She is amazed (as am I) at how it has improved in the 5 weeks since my first visit - much healthier, thicker (looks like I have so much more hair), soft, smooth and shinny. Love the color too. I have been using the products she suggested, Karastase and added a few more yesterday. The products really are making a huge difference with the health and condition to my hair.
OK ... not really anything to do with PINK, but I DO have on a pink top and to be truthful, I forgot about Pink Saturday - I have red, white & blue on my mind ;)

They are both still in college and at school for the summer. Hopefully they will be home in between sessions - I miss them!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! It is a beautiful day here - I am off for a long walk and a stop at the farmer's market. Later today, I am going to another bike shop to look for my Pink Cruiser :)
Well, I had pretty much decided on the Pink Eldorado Cadillac bike cruiser and was ready to order it (free shipping until Jan 5), but made a quick check to see if the bike came assembled - remember this is a very important issue in my family due to lack of anyone (i.e husband) that knows how to use a tool - and sure enough, it does required some assembly. It states it is '85%' assembled, which unfortunately is not enough to qualify in this household. 10o% of nothing! Dan said he didn't care how much more it cost, we are buying the bike locally, completely assembled! ;)
I found a few cruisers that I do like at two other stores in our area that I have not been to and plan on checking them out this week.
Although this one is not pink, it is a lovely apple green - love it. Thanks, Karen for sharing it with me!
Meanwhile, I did some searching for the all important cute basket!
This would be my first choice...if only Bax OR Murph were smaller. This basket is for 13 lbs or under. My boys are big Westies, especially Murphy - he weighs 27lbs! Baxter wouldn't stay in the basket even if he was smaller (he is a mere 20lbs), but Murphy probably would - he aims to please. Being a one time 'homeless', he appreciates the little things in life (like sleeping on down comforters with a feather pillow!, a steak dinner with broccoli stems on the side, and I am sure a nice ride through Winter Park in a bike basket!). BTW, the vet says Murph is 'big boned' and only needs to lose 2-3 lbs. ;) We are working on it.

I really like this too - great market tote that I could have monogrammed :), but I can't find it in any other colors. I actually have a market tote (black toile with monogram) like this that I could possibly have someone (NOT my husband!) rig up to hook on my bike? ...

Ok ... I am sure I have bored you all to death over beach cruisers and baskets! Enough already ;)
Once again, it's Pink Saturday. This year for Christmas, I was planning on getting a new bike but I could not find the one I wanted at our local bike shop. So ... I have been looking on line for the perfect pink beach cruiser to ride around town - to the country club, the gym, the farmer's market, Whole Foods, Park Avenue and just for fun. Winter Park is such a beautiful area, surrounded by lakes, big oak trees and so 'un-Florida' ... one of the reasons we love it here and this is the perfect time of year to enjoy the outdoors.

This is my 1st pick as of now. The Pink Eldorado Cadillac, which seems to have good reviews. This reminds me of my father, who always drove a Cadillac (car), but never pink! I also need (must)have the bike delivered completely assembled. No handymen in my home, what-so-ever!! And ... it goes without saying, I need a cute basket for the front!
Also ... I year or so ago, I founda CUTE pink & green bike somewhere on line but cannot find it now. Not sure what company either. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

I missed last week'sPink Saturday since I was in NY (still need to do my post on my trip!), but while there, I visited the new Lilly Pulitzer store which opened last spring, I believe. Even though we have are own signature store right here in Winter Park, I always love to visit other Lilly stores when I travel.

This week for Pink Saturday, I am sharing my new grocery bag. Although it is black and white polka dot, the monogram is in pink (of course). I LOVE this bag, it holds a lot of groceries and those little hook thingies on it clip onto the grocery cart, which open the bag wide to fill it up. I have to give little lesson to the bag people at Publix and Whole Foods when I am shopping . ;)
ETA: Many of you have asked about this bag. I bought it from my friend - Devon and Me ... but she is sold out of them! I bought 3 myself (1 for a gift). I found some on another site online though in more color choices. LOVE the pink and green bags (my friend only had the black and white) and you could get in monogrammed yourself!

I was planning on doing the WALK this morning, but Griff has a early lacrosse game that I want to be at (plus I have both photography and drink duty!), so I can't make it, but I did make a donation to the cause. I know 2 women who are currently battling breast cancer, one who is not doing well and needs much support and prayers.

I'm back home. Many thanks to all of your for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. Much appreciated. My mother's surgery went well and she is doing 'ok', but very weak. Normally, this type of surgery (non-evasive to remove/blast kidney stones) is not too serious, but with my mom's age and heath it was very risky. The doctor was only able to work on one side (she has stones in both kidneys) due to the anesthesia - he did not want her under for more than an hour. Hopefully, since he got the big stones, she will have much less pain (or none). She may possibly have another surgery to take care of the other side.
And since I missed Pink Saturday yesterday, I am posting a bit late. This week I am sharing my "Lilly" dolls. I have wanted these since they came out in '05, but missed purchasing them at that time. So, I recently bought them on ebay. Just felt I had to have them! Someday, I may be able to give them to a grand daughter :) ...

The way we were meant to eat! Very informative and helpful with making the right food choices. Basically, 'eat real food', whole food with minimal processing. The 'stuff' your grandmother would have recognized as food. The more plant foods, the better. I, myself have been processed carbohydrate and refined sugar free for almost a year now and have never felt better!
