Fall Favorites

Even though it is still 'summer' here in Fl, we have had a bit of change in weather. Cooler mornings and evening (as well as 2 days straight now of non-stop rain).

While I still wear plenty of Lilly during the fall and winter months, I do add in some of my other favorite designs .. namely Tory Burch, J.Crew.

Growing up in the north, I LOVE winter clothes .. sweaters, boots, jackets, jeans, tights! So ... as soon as the temps drop under, oh say 85 degrees I get out my winter wear!

TB Simone Cardigan in RED! I never wear red (I'm a pink girl) .. this will be the first piece of red clothing in many years. Griff's school colors are red & black, so instead of always wearing black, I am going all out this year for his games, wearing red. A good investment .. to wear during the next 4 years of high school lax games.

Giorgio Armani Silk Foundation ... I recently switched from Laura Mercier to this. It really does feel like liquid silk. Along with the loose powder .. they give my skin a luminous finish.

It's Fall!

Even here in Florida, the temperatures have finally dropped a bit. It was 65 degrees early this morning! Up in the mid 80's now, but still such a nice break from the heat and humidity. Great football weather - I'm off to Griff's game in a short while.

To 'celebrate' my happiness over the cooler temps ... a few of my new J Crew purchases ;)

And a new pair of 7 straight leg jeans

 

Cover-ups!

I hope you all don't think I am just going to be parading around the country club pool in my new bikinis ... um, no way - I am not that brave. Truth be told, I really don't even spend time in the sun anymore (I currently have a set of 6 stitches in my back from a 'little' basil cell skin cancer surgery I had last week - thanks to many childhood/teen years of being in the sun without protection). For the past 15++ years I have been very careful with sun exposure. While at the beach, I am always under a huge umbrella, wearing a large hat, completely covered in sun screen. Same goes for the pool - unless I am swimming. I wear sun screen every day, regardless of what I am doing, always put it on (I live in Florida!!). On a side note - self tanner is my best friend ;)

So ... I purchased a few cute cover-ups to wear over my new suits or just wear around during these horribly hot and humid summer days (record highs here in FL this week!).

Swim Suit Season

Well, I can not believe I am going here...swim suits or even more shocking - bikinis! Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine I would ever wear a bikini again, but with the 'new me', I am going for it!

 I have been on a mission (obsession!) shopping for new swim suits and have purchased a few, some at great prices.

2 out of 3 ... home!

Griff arrived home late this afternoon from his week at lacrosse camp - a very tired boy! From the little I could get out of him (he has certainly transitioned over to a teenager!), it was a good time and great being coached by the Syracuse team (2009 NCAA National Champs). He won some award (not sure what) and did get some autographs of a few of the Syracuse players.

And, my Bear boy arrived home early this evening. SO good to have him home for a few days. I made him pasta carbonara for dinner and he is off to meet up with friends to watch the big game - that would be the Orlando Magic. Of course, Griff and my husband are in front of the screen waiting for the game to start and I am no where near it. Bad me, not supporting the Magic. Seems to me like these playoff games have been going on forever! ;)

Since I don't have any photos of the 'guys' to share. God forbid I try to take one ... I'll share a few of my resent (past few months) shopping finds. A complete change of topics here, but one that interests me more than basketball ;)

It was not in the stores in NYC or I am sure I would have purchased it then.  I an trying to be patient and wait for it to go on sale, but I'm afraid it may be sold out by then. I am usually good about waiting for my J crew things to go on sale, but ... Oh, what's a girl to do!?!! ;)

J. Crew Lovin'

I had some time this weekend to do some shopping at both the J. Crew store and the J.Crew outlet. I also received a tip through one of the J. Crew blogs (yes, there are a few J. Crew lovin' blogs) about J.Crew shoes currently in some of the TJ Maxx stores. I rarely go shopping there, never seem to find anything and I really do not have the patience to look through rack after rack, but I lucked out this time. I went over to Clearwater on Sunday to visit my mother and there just happens to be a TJ Maxx close to her. Look what I found ... the heels were all $19.99 each and the flats $14.99. I bought everything they had in my size ;) ...

 

  

Saturday, I made it to both J. Crew stores. On a side note: we have some great outlet malls. The down side is they are about a half hour drive drive for me which is not bad...but they are both in tourist town, USA! Not my favorite area to be. Worth it though once in a while ;).

Closet Organization

I have most of my closet put back together - still working on a few areas. Thanks for all your input on hangers. Those space savers seem popular. For now, I am using my faithful white, plastic hangers since I have so many of them and don't know what to do with them all! Many of the items I placed back in my closet still need to be altered, including my beloved Lilly dresses and skirts. I've been taking in a few items almost every week to my seemtress.

While cleaning out and purging, I realized that I don't have a single pair of pants to wear (besides a few new pairs of jeans and new work out shorts and tennis skirts). Really, NO bottoms what so ever - short, skirts or pants that fit. Need to seriously work on this - especially the bermuda shorts since I wear them almost year around.

I was so happy that it was finally a nice day and a bit cool towards the evening and game time. Nice to be able to wear jeans and dress up a bit. Most of the games are hot as h*ll! Not my idea of a good time, much less trying to look good ;)

My New Obsession

I have become a bit addicted to this site, polyvore.  So much fun putting outfits together and getting ideas from others. Of course, it is right up my alley - clothes, fashion, and shopping!

My first 'set' ... a few of my recent JCrew purchases (oh, how I love JCrew!). Almost all items were on sale too.

And, because of my weight loss (due to my new, healthy life style  - kicking my sugar addiction!) I have been doing a lot of  shopping. It is all the more fun when clothes fit and look so much better. I've had a few questions regarding my program (The Zone) and I plan on a post tomorrow to answer them and add an update of my progress.
