It's been years now that I have done a single scrapbook page and I miss it so. For many years - I started this hobby when my youngest, Griff was one year old - I scrapped almost every day. My little hobby turned into being published in a few different scrap booking magazines, being a 'Garden Girl' at Two Peas in a Bucket for many years, becoming a Creating Keepsakes Hall of Famer, participating on a few design teams, and even traveling to various shows/conventions/crops. (Please know that I am not bragging here .. seriously, it is no big deal.. it's only scrap booking!)
Then .. I added card making to my scrap booking and somehow this turned into a little business. This 'little' business has kept me very busy over the past few years and now, instead of scrapping every day, I work almost every day. Don't get me wrong .. I really do love it and it is a way to still be creative and make a little money to help support my Lilly addiction ;) .
I do miss my scrap booking days though and hope to some day (I keep telling myself this), be able to find the time to get back to it again. I still have a closet filled with supplies and still like to buy them. Maybe if I just set a goal of 1 layout per week .. although, I am the slowest scrapper on earth.
I spent well over an hour this morning going through a big, rubbermaid bin full of completed layouts, all in page protectors but not yet in albums (need to do this, I even have the albums). Shed a few tears too .. just looking back a few years to the different stages of my boy's lives. Time passes way tooo fast.
A few of my oldest son, Bear ..
This just cracks me up. He was in the 8th grade play, Wizard of Oz and played one of those weird monkeys! One of my very favorite memories, being that this was such a departure from my usual life of boy sports and I loved seeing a different side of him. Bear did confess that he only tried out for the play so that he could miss classes ;)
He is just a little older than Griff here ... my first to drive and her I am all these years later doing it again.
On the weight lifting team too! He played 3 sports his freshman year.
~ This post reminiscing about days past has encouraged me .. I just re-subscribed to Creating Keepsakes Magazine ~ :)

Wow! Nice to look back on these memories. You were a great scrapbooker, and no doubt still are.

My scrapbooking stuff is all over a table in the basement. I have to get serious....either do it or sell it and resign myself to digital books instead.
Sure do love your organization. Want to tell us more about it???

I know, Melissa. Me, too. In fact, I first became acquainted with you at Two Peas. Your little blonde boys reminded me so much of my son when he was young. I haven't scrapbooked a real page in years, and I do miss it.
You and I discussed a circle journal a few years ago, and I am thinking of getting together a group after the holidays. I want to make sure I have a group of dependable participants because you and I both know how these can "go south" if someone "falls off the face of the earth". Let me know if you're still interested, and I'll keep you posted.

Melissa, you were one of my first favorite people on Two Peas..one of the first people I "bookmarked" back in 2001 when I started scrapping..always loved your clean simple style and your use of color...wish you WOULD start scrapping again..would love to see how your style is the same and different...Please scrap again.. :)

Ditto to Heather above! I remember you from the beginning too. After a break, I have started back again too. I am working on Project Life for this year and I love it! Be sure to post some layouts! :)

I am in the same boat here! I try to scrapbook just birthdays and major holidays, but I can't even get that done anymore!

Your layouts in CK and on 2Peas were some of the first to inspire me when I first started scrapping. As one other person said, yours were some of the first layouts on Peas that I bookmarked. I don't scrap as much anymore either, maybe a page or 2 a month when I get together with friends at Archivers. I do still love to buy supplies, and I keep taking photos. I am trying to keep up with Project Life.

I have a lot of supplies but never get around to it. or have learned much on how to scrapbook.
Start by putting the pages in the books and work up to starting new pages.

I've never scrapbooked (is that even a word?), but my two daughter-in-loves do/did. I wish I had when my children were younger.
Hugs,
Kat

Yes, I remember those days! I think we first met at a scrapbook convention in Orlando when you were there with an old school mate of mine, Sandra Goffman. MANY moons ago!! Your style is still beautiful, whether it is home dec or paper crafts. I let my CK Mag subscription go a couple of years ago.
